Cheers for Bellamy and Potter

Ooo what's this? I was browsing through my old folders when I stumbled upon this file. Probably came from my Muse-fangirl phase. This is kind of hilarious, kind of. I wonder if anyone at that dodgy bar (pretty sure the bar is something we lovingly call warung) realize who came to their humble place.

I'm not into Muse anymore, but my sister is. I dislike their latest album, but I hold Resistance dearly because dearly beloved Gechan gave it to me on my 17th birthday. And some songs still sounds acceptable after the past three years.

Muse to me is like Harry Potter. They're some kind of introduction to the world I'm into right now. It sounds kind of lame but they are my first good music and good book, after I knew them I feel as if a whole new universe unmasked, my yearning answered yet I became even more hungry. Now my reading and listening preference had evolved in such a way that I look down on them, if the me now meet Muse and Harry Potter for the first time, that me will probably hate them (except the last Harry Potter, it's just too dang epic for anyone with rationale to object).

Without HP I won't read Murakami, without Muse I won't listen to Nick Cave or get Yeezus -Kanye is a genius, I tell you-. They're not the best, but there is no better place to start. So I give HP 5 stars for each book on Goodreads, yes, even Order of the Phoenix. Less about literary achievement, more about nostalgia, whatever man, we could be biased once in a while.

btw,
