These are some books I bought this year and I think they're worth reading:
1. Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor
2. The Way West by A.B. Guthrie
3. Stories an anthology edited by Neil Gaiman & Al Sarrantonio
4. Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
(It's in a list, I can't get why it was banned, it doesn't offend anything, minor sexual scene (which even doesn't involve any kisses), minor fight. Well but obviously not the kind of book you tell for your children, you want them to grow nice don't you?)
5. Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
6. Catatan Seorang Demonstran (Annotations of A Demonstrator) by Soe Hok Gie
number 1 & 5 are children books but you can really enjoy, they're too sober for kids anyway.
I bought a LOT of books this year but just finished some. Among the disappointing ones is The Wind-up Bird Chronicle. Te book is not bad, it's just not my kind of books. It is critically acclaimed but I really want to get rid of the book. But I can't just dump it anywhere and some kids pick up and read it, those pure little minds. The book belongs to the literary community, or maybe just everyone smarter than me. I just don't like it, no matter how good. I mean, vegetables are good, but many people don't like it.
I'm disappointed with the book, when I finished and think about what I get from it, nothing's good, did it expand my mind? but to what extent? I feel haunted and almost claustrophobic and paralyzed and tricked. Some people said, that is what makes a book is good, the emotional, psychological fight you have during reading, how it requires you to look deeper beyond, how it took you away, and left you confused? Call me dumb but I don't like it anyway. I haven't got to the level of loving abstract dark things, and maybe never. I do love this May Kasahara girl, the only joy.
Now I have this pile of books haven't read. Nearly a Dozen. I don't know where to start :)

Searchlight
ATS girls on duty.
I'm really into old vibes right now. Looking war pics, watching war movies. A lot reading about segregation times. Just finished Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. The saddest children book I ever read, no, the book hardly a tearjerker. I mean sad because in the entire book I didn't remember the children, and all of the people, had any fun. It's all about working at cotton fields, burning sunlight, poverty, hard times, hard times. But I like how the Logan family sticks together, how strong they are. And Cassie, Cassie being doesn’t have any idea what her color of skin mean and demand to be just equal to anyone. I like stories like this, no dragons, magic spells, apocalypse of some kind. Just simple people struggling in real life, real heroism as I call. I can relate to it and I can realize how small I am. The unknowns behind me, ahead of me, around me.
College is Fine

New year's eve, spent home. Unlike previous years it doesn't meant so much for me. I mean, I just realized what day it is, just now.
Well, to sum up a bit.
I've met new wonderful people, at the city, the college. People whom I'm close with, people I like and watch (and they don't have any idea), people dead I've read about and somehow feel close to them too. After high school I take things slowly, I reflect, sort some things out, find out things about me and everything around me which previously I was blind to. At some point I got really terrified because of the amount of new things I just understand, is like being caged all this time and suddenly go out and saw the whole vast unknown lay ahead. Funny when I expect lemon, life gives me... watermelon. Lol.
I drive a car now :D not an old sky-blue Beetle as I wanted before, a hot red March, yea it still have those round headlamp so I can bear with it, the same size too. After 4 crashes I've grown a feeling for her. Poor thing.
College is fine.
What more? Ohyeah, sorry for the English. Am reading The Way West and really got into it, such a nice story, you should try it. So bye for now. Buffalos waiting.

:O
-Funny how everyone's path is criss-crossed with another. You may start in the same place then end up separated thousands miles. Or now you befriends with someone you never thought you would. Or how mysterious world is when you just found out some answers.
-Everyone has their own fight.
-And everything's strange when friends become strangers and strangers become friends.
-You may wear something all over your head but if it's not on your soul too it doesn't matter at all.
Just some thoughts flashing in my head. four out of four thousand, I can't get focused nowadays, especially when I have to get rid of those stinking pile of homeworks. Nah. Love ya Geology.

The Looong Awaited Blank Piece of Paper
Hi, been too long
I just found out that my blog aura is gloomy, yes? So sorry about that. It's funny because I'm not a gloomy person if you meet me, true I often caught daydreaming and my friend once told me it's easy to identify me among crowds, just point a girl by herself staring blankly, haha. But I'm actually silly, I like to hum random songs and jingles, even dance a little, sometimes I enjoy myself too much in public spaces and got really embarrassed after. I also laugh a lot and loudly, I know it's gross but I can't help it.
So I'm pretty contradictory to this kind of person looming in this blog. It's just, I write if I'm sad, writing's like a therapy or a good friend of mine if I have nobody to go to. Papers don't judge, they just be there. Not pushing or anything, kindly offering itself as a space to find out answers. That's why when I don't have anything disappointing or puzzling or heartbreaking, I'm afraid I don't have anything to write. So it's good news to me actually if I don't write for a while, it's a sign that I'm okay now.
It's unfair that what I pour into papers were only the negatives, dark thoughts and frustration. It's unfair to myself because I flawed my image, and it's unfair to you too. I mean, if I publish something and people read it, they'll got affected, doesn't matter they agree or not, they'll think about it at least, or a sentence or so will stuck in their head and affect what they do.
I'm so sorry. Please, if you've read my posts, be critical and think it thoroughly, you have to have your own grounds, thoughts, okay? You don't have to agree to my writings because I'm not even wise or smart or know everything, I'm just like you, figuring out things.
It's sill hard for me to write when I'm happy, haha, a shame, I know. When I'm happy there's no problems to solve therefore no writings necessary. And it's still weird for me to share my activities here. I mean, who gives a damn about it? Nothing interesting or what.
I'm building a new life here, from scraps, really. Still trying to accept the facts. Sometimes it hurts me, thinking my old green house back across the sea, dusting and hollow and silent. I had so many memories there, so many. But no time for regretting, I have an amazing new home here, have to get to know her. And, the sea, God, you won't know how I really miss the sea, the smell, the breeze. And of course the looks, she's more than blue, you know that? Sometimes when she's in the mood, she turns green, or purple, or brown, or shades of everything, richer than rainbow. I used to see her almost everyday, now it's mountains. I haven't really understand them, but I like their mighty-dramatic look, especially when their feet is invisible like the sky and as they ascends they got clearer and clearer, and finally at the peak they look like another world with another sunlight, just floating there so carelessly and high, like telling us "You can't touch me you dwarfish creatures!" haha, I will conquer them I promise, the mountains.
Ms. Lulu my dear teacher once said, life's a ferrish wheel. I know now, but the hard part is not the bottom, but when you're on top and you got to look back and realize everything you did and did not. The hard part is to make peace with the worse parts. I still avoid them, the people I look up to, my teachers at junior high, friends I've hurt and try to forgot. I think about them almost everyday, I want to go and thank them for everything, they really deserve that. But I'm ashamed, I had made so many mistakes and wrong choices, and we've change a lot. The abyss between me and them is just too far and deep, it's like a lifetime in distance. Sometimes I really wish they forgot about me ever existed and that we shared a life, but at the same time it hurts to think about me being forgotten by them, I love them, you see. But I have to try, I have to. Making peace with my pasts, it's really hard to start, really. But I will try, it's not only for them, but it's for me too.
Wow, look where the topic had turned into! I hope you get the points, whatever it is, LOL. I hope you will think about it, see it with your view. It have been really good, really, the time. It's a new era for me, I've been waiting for this you know? A new blank piece of paper. I still have chances, we are.To make things all right in the end. Because in the process they may go all wrong and hard. But if I accept it and think and learn, I may got something. I may got something.

Makasih Buat Semuanyaaa
SNMPTN. selesai.
The long awaited moment since I've been born is passed at last.
Dibilang lancar, yaaa, setengah-setengah sih. Dini hari pertama aku kebangun, jam 11-an lah, terus melek 4 jam, aku frustasiiii banget, sebenernya udah biasa kebangun pas malem tapi ga tau kenapa waktu itu aku ga bisa tidur lagi, padahal hari itu aku snmptn. SNMPTN WOI! TPA, lumayaaan. Kemdas, ga janji deh. Hari ke-2 oke oke saja.
Tapi kata mereka: "Ga papa lah bin, kan kamu udah ngerjain sebaik-baiknya"
Tapi kata mama: "Kak, kalo ga lulus bukan artinya kiamat ya"
Kata orang-orang: "Cuma Allah yang tau yang terbaik"
Ya, makasih buat semuanya, udah nyemangatin ngehibur ngedoain, sadar ga sadar. Makasih ya dan moga kalian semua dapet balasannya :)

After the Test
Kenapa ya aku ga ikut ngitung kemaren?
Ternyata aku lebih suka sembunyi dan tenang sebentar
Daripada ngehadepin kenyataan dan udah siap melawannya

Happy New Year, btw
“You didn’t kill them?”
“Of course not.” Bod said, “This is my home. Why would I want them hanging around here for the rest of time?” Then, “Look, it’s okay. I dealt with them”
Scarlett took a step away from him. She said, “You aren’t a person. People don’t behave like you. You’re as bad as he was. You’re a monster”
Bod stared at Scarlett as she walk away, hoping that she would turn and look back, that she would smile or just look at him without fear in her eyes. But Scarlett did not turn. She simply walked away.
Silas returned to the graveyard and found Bod sitting in the amphitheater by the obelisk, his face set.
“I took her memories,” said Silas “They will return to Glasgow. She has friends there”
“How could you make her forget me?”
Silas said, “People want to forget the impossible. It makes their world safe.
Bod said, “I liked her”
The wind that blew across the graveyard was cold, but neither the man nor the boy seemed to feel it.
Been reading "THE GRAVEYARD BOOK" this week between organic chemistry, the whole club of nemathelminthes, cursing Aristoteles and Bohr, and L=6.02 x 10^23 (or something, nah, don't care). The level of stress is really high that I can't care or feel anything anymore, than to just GET IT DONE. to be precise, DONE RIGHT. and DONE GOOD. So far, my predictions for my try-outs seems too sober that I prefer reading a book about a boy living in a graveyard.
Anyway, the book is good, I mean, GOOD. That I can't dare to read the last chapter because well, it always saddening to finish a good book. Almost like saying farewell after hours talking to a very fine stranger and knowing you won't met him anymore. Ahahaha whaaat? seriously I'm getting over-dramatic lately. Btw, yeah, so I won't post often these months, probably till June. Sorry, readers, if I have one, but I really need to pass SNMPTN, or not the whole world will crumble :p but yeah, I do post sometimes, so, be around.
